2/22/02 So we couldn't go back, so we went forward. We went seriously forward, and backward and sideways and every which way. I, personally, got pretty lost. Luckily, I was the only one. We walked down the marble halway until we arrived at some room. Truth be told, I wasn't really paying attention at this point. Eventually, we got to a room with some skeletons.. Wait, did that happen first? No, I think we got to the room with the turtle creatures first. Yeah. We got to this room. I jumped up onto a wall... It was a sweet jump too. Anyway, Xuxu flew ahead and started playing with some dials on the door out of here. She saw some turtle creatures and flew back to tell us. Immediately, I jumped down to where they were hiding. I hate hiding turtles. Truth be told, I had never seen a turtle before. They like warmer climates than the Frozen Isles, and I wanted to see one. I didn't realize that turtles had antennae. Hmmm. So, the first thing one of these turtles does is start sniffing at me with its weird antenna, and then it tried to bite me. I guess they were snapping turtles. Then, the other one touched my chain shirt with its antenna, and my shirt turned to rust. CRAP! I tossed my quarterstaff up to Shigara. I didn't want the turtles to eat the bound ends. The King gave it to me after all. Then, I punched the thing with my spiked gauntlets. Of course, they turned to rust, but at that point, I expected it. Then I grappled the thing and tried to break off its antenna. That'd show it. I saw Skyld jump on the other turtle's back (Go Skyld). The next thing I knew, the door with the dials was open and everyone was running through. I gave one last try to break the antenna, but no luck. I dashed out of there. Then, after a while, we came to a room with some skeletons. There was some riddle and then we stepped through the mirror. There were a lot of riddles and puzzles in the caves. I guess the third year students have to take a class in riddles. I mean, we got through, so I wonder how stupid these third years are. I guess the university entrance requirements have gotten tougher. So, then we walk up some steps. I figured that riddle out actually. It was pretty neat. You couldn't step on any of the second or third steps. Then we came to a room with some laughing voice, a mirror, a pillar and a bunch of tiles. I started playing with the tiles, and by accident, I put them together and they said, 'this is a huge waste of time', or something like that. Then while the others were looking at it, I was playing with the mirror and held it up so I could see the pillar in it. The pillar read 'break the mirror'. So, I did. Then a ladder or something showed up and we climbed up. Then we had to hop across a room with some squares with numbers. Luckily Shigara and I are both pretty good with math, so together with Kayla's help, we got through ok. I threw a rock back into the room to set off some of the squares, and lightning shot up. I guess we were lucky. Finally, we came to a room with a bunch of statues. STATUES!!! SHIT!!!! We all put on our goggles pretty quickly. We saw Velma sitting inside a chest in the center of a big pit with six frog statues all around her. Xuxu quickly shouted something and the chest closed right on Velma. That was quick thinking. I jumped the chasm and grabbed the chest. Then, as we were leaving we noticed that the statues all had rings on. So, we all took a ring and went back. It was almost morning, so we put Velma back in her cage quickly. She was pissed. Luckily Xuxu was there to put her to sleep. After we stashed Velma, we put the goggles back. It happened pretty quickly, with Xuxu and Shigara mage handing the goggles back, and Skyld and I distracting the vine. Of course, I got the shit kicked out of me by the vine. The damn thing knocked me on my ass. I almost blacked out, but held it together. Then we went back to the dorms and went to sleep. Finally. I hope we don't get caught. |
